Wem der Ferrari für 14.2 mio. doch etwas zu teuer war, der hatte noch viele Gelegenheiten sich ein neues Schmuckstück in die heimische Garage zu stellen. Für Kleinwagen-Fans war das Angebot gewohnt übersichtlich, gerade mal zwei Fahrzeuge für unsereins waren im Angebot. Ein Taxi in der typischen Farbkombination Grün-Schwarz und ein Mare in grellem Hellgrün mit Speichenrädern! Guter Geschmack sieht wohl anders aus…

Ein Multipla-Taxi für: 32’000 €

The car on offer is a very rare Multipla Taxi in its original guise. The car was rescued and restored in the 1990s, and it received a recent refurbishment of the entire upholstery, an overhaul of the mechanicals and a restoration of the body.
According to the owner this car would have been used in Rome by the Cinecitta studios in several films and television series. It is a rare four-door taxi version with a folding rear bench seat that drops down to the floor. This modularity makes this a precursory «minivan» particularly convenient. It seems to be very complete, with its old taxi badge, its mechanical period meter and the rear plate indicating the license number «Roma 1232». On the old Italian «Libretto», it appears that the Multipla was authorized to perform «Servizio Pubblico». Moreover, it is a very old version, produced during the first year of the launch of the model. Based on the platform of the Fiat 600, the Multipla was a major success that had a product life cycle of almost 10 years till 1965.
Very original in this taxi version, this Multipla is in nice condition and is sure to appeal to the public, whether in the street or at the classic car events!

The Moretti Multipla Mare we offer would have been found in Greece, at a time when it was still being used as a shuttle in a tourist village. Imported in Italy in 2013, it was completely restored, with a full frame-off job, and replacement of the sheet metal panels that had suffered from corrosion. Photographs included in the file attest to the comprehensive work done. The car is equipped with elegant wicker seats, typical features of these «beach» versions, which have been redone by remaining as close as possible to the origin. Moreover, the mechanicals were serviced, as well as the wiring. The pretty Borrani wire wheels have been restored too. Since its restoration this original car has hardly been used.
In the 1960s, Moretti manufactured various models, derived from Fiats, with a production volume averaging some 1,500 vehicles per year. Between 1958 and 1961, this small manufacturer made several special versions of the Multipla, including this «beach» version, mainly for hot sunny regions. The car is now ready once again to carry its occupants in a fun and very original way.
